Meet Kate & Rick

Rick and Kate spent the majority of their 21 years together in Pittsburgh, PA, before moving several times for his job. During their time in Rockwall, Texas, they practiced weekly for about a year, and in 2021, they retired to Sarasota, Florida.

Rick has been in numerous bands for about 45 years, and his guitar playing is the backbone of their band.

When Kate picked up her guitar again and became serious about it, playing and singing with her husband, they began doing live videos on Facebook. Their audience engaged with them and enjoyed their performances. This rekindled Kate’s passion for music, and her niece, Jenna Brown, named their band “Southern Kick.” Thus, their musical journey began anew.

Suddenly, Kate's life was full again in an entirely different way. She decided to create a space to celebrate the things that bring clarity and fulfillment to life, whether it be food, travel, health, music, or friendship.

These elements have been a great source of joy for her, and she hopes they bring joy to others as well!
